INTERNATIONAL WRITING COMPETITION
(Cloonacool, Ireland)

Would you like to take part in an International writing competition and help raise funds for a good cause at the same time? The winner will receive a limited edition, handcrafted piece of Innisfree Crystal. Innisfree Crystal is produced in Sligo, Ireland to the highest world standard.
Cloonacool is a small rural parish in County Sligo in the West of Ireland. The community works hard to preserve and maintain its culture and identity of which it has a long and proud tradition. At the present time the people of the area are in the process of building a Community and Games Park. This park will be a centre for games, recreation and social events within the parish. All funds raised from the running of this competition will go towards the development of this park.
 

RULES OF ENTRY
Pieces should be of no more than 500 words.
Entries must be clearly written. 
The name and address of the author should be sent on a separate sheet.
The entry fee is £3 or $5. There is no limit to the amount of entries per person.
An entry fee must accompany each entry.
No entry form is needed.
You must enclose a SAE or International Reply Coupon. 
A panel of experienced and award-winning writers will judge the competition.
Their decision will be final.
No correspondence will be entered into concerning results.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘The Cloonacool Park Development Fund’.
Closing date for entry is November 30th 1998. 
The winner will be notified as soon as possible after December 8th 1998.
Arrangements will then be made for presentation of the prize prize.

All peices must be under the title "There was a field".
Submissions of work will be considered an acceptance of these rules.
